Andrew Cornett - Canada's NRC

Dr. Cornett currently leads the Marine Infrastructure, Energy & Water Resources (MIEWR) Research Program at Canada’s National Research Council. The MIEWR program provides consultancy, applied research and technology development services related to marine infrastructure, marine renewable energy and water resources management. In over 25 years with NRC, Andrew has led many studies in which physical modelling was applied to create knowledge, optimize designs and develop practical solutions to complex problems. Before joining NRC, Andrew earned his Ph.D. in Coastal and Ocean Engineering from the University of British Columbia, Canada, for research into the wave forcing and stability of rock armour on revetments and breakwaters. Andrew is also an adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa where he enjoys mentoring graduate student research in coastal engineering and marine renewable energy.
